These are pretty obvious and most of us probably think that we don’t need to hear it again but I still think that there is some value in reading them just one more time ….
Tip #1 – Set realistic expectations
Let’ face it … not every player it’s going to make a living from gambling. It’s inevitable that everyone is going to lose some money at least some of the time since you are playing against the house edge. The casinos are in the business of making money and need to turn a profit one way or the other. Never forget that it’s a commercial entertainment industry so if the thought of losing money is too much for you to bear, then gambling is simply not for you.
Tip #2 – Have fun
Gambling is meant to be fun and entertaining. If it no longer is and is in fact turning into a way to deal with some other problems in your life, then walk away because you’re probably heading from trouble. Using gambling as a break to relax is fine so long as it doesn’t develop into something more than that.
Tip # 3 – Don’t gamble with what you cannot afford to lose
Unless you are a high roller with endless amounts of resources, we all have our limits. If you’re starting to gamble with the rent or mortgage money, then you really seriously need to assess what you are doing. It’s just not worth risking your livelihood and financial freedom.
Tip #4 – If you need help, get it
There is no shame in seeking help if you think you may have a problem and there are so many organizations out there today that you shouldn’t have any trouble finding one.
